While on vacation in Waldoboro, Maine, conditions were favorable for viewing the Milk Way as the moon set before nightfall on this August evening. As luck would have it, the mist and fog which is often seen over the ocean in the evening did not appear. I have not done a lot of night photography so it was a learning experience with hours of trial and error. There was a bit of light shining from a local town reflecting on low lying mist and clouds.
