Spring is a very active time for great blue herons as they raise their broods. Sometimes it takes hours of standing by with camera on tripod, waiting for the "moment" you want to capture. Camera in burst mode, then check out the results looking for a keeper. I think the squawking chicks were looking for food but this adult kept bringing sticks ( which are passed along to the other adult to weave into the nest).
