Grace Yoder, the youngest member of the Simsbury Camera Club (SCC), awarded a $3,500 scholarship!

Grace Yoder is the Simsbury Camera Club’s youngest member, graduating high school in June 2022.  Grace, a resident of Granby, is a very accomplished photographer and has participated in many of the club’s monthly competitions, scoring and placing well.   SCC is excited to announce that Grace has been awarded a $3,500 scholarship from the New England Camera Club Council (NECCC) towards her first year’s tuition at the University of Hartford, where she will double major in Photography and Biology.  Grace has also been selected by NECCC to be a high school guest attendee at this summer’s NECCC 75th Annual Photography Conference.

Grace’s dad Merle (an award-winning photographer) is a member of SCC, and urged her to join to continue practicing her photography skills and learn from others with lots of experience. Said Grace: “The monthly competitions are what really drew me in.  I feel like I’m getting better at evaluating my photos, understanding how and why a picture looks good, and exploring new fields of photography.”

Congratulations to Grace, and best wishes for an exciting college experience – with lots of photos, of course.
